The Calamondin

This small citrus fruit is used to flavor foods and drinks. Despite its outer appearance and aroma, the taste quite sour, although the peel is sweet. Eating the fruit whole has a perfect combination of sweet and sour. Can be used to make Calamondin marmalade.

Australian Finger Limes

(Now available only at Plum Market)

One of the rarest and most sought-after fruits, it started showing up in large quantities at California farmers’ markets.  From the outside it looks like a gherkin, but when sliced in half, pearlescent juice vesicles ooze out like citrus caviar.  The clean, fresh, tart lime-lemon taste is enticing enough, but the texture is crunchy and juicy, like citrus Pop Rocks!
